Dish:                        Afghani Gosh-e Fil! (Elephant Ear Pastries)

Description:        These quirky treats are also known as elephant ears, and you just might see why in the photo! This traditional dessert from Afghanistan consists of light, flaky pastry shells filled with a sweet and creamy mixture of milk, sugar, and cardamom. The result is a mouth-watering treat that is both decadent and delicate.

My notes:          I rolled these out to 15 x 8 cm ovals (the recipe said circles) and then pinched them in the middle for the shape.

The final product didn’t have much flavour so I added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of clove powder to the sprinkling mixture.                           Keep some of the sprinkling and spoon some on each pastry before eating.

Three days later they were still crunchy. Yum!!
